Bad news for Bafana Bafana as the dangerous reigning African footballer of the year Victor Osimhen is declared fit to play

Nigeria’s hopes for the Africa Cup of Nations semi-final against South Africa received a boost as star player Victor Osimhen has been declared fit to play.

After a fitness scare, Osimhen joined the team in Bouake and trained with the squad, confirming his availability for the crucial match.

“Victor Osimhen has been declared fit and available for selection in the semi-final clash against South Africa on Wednesday. He has joined the team in Bouake and has trained with the squad today,” a team spokesperson confirmed.

Initially, there were concerns about Osimhen’s availability as he did not travel with the rest of the squad due to abdominal discomfort.

He also missed training on Monday after being substituted in Nigeria’s quarter-final win over Angola.

Coach Jose Peseiro had been evasive about Osimhen’s chances of playing, citing it as a health problem.

However, with the striker’s return to training, it seems he will be ready to contribute to Nigeria’s efforts in the semi-finals.

Despite only scoring one goal in the tournament so far, Osimhen has been a standout performer for the Super Eagles.

His presence on the field brings energy and creativity to the team’s attacking play.

Nigeria will be looking to Osimhen to provide the spark they need to overcome a resilient South African side.

His ability to create scoring opportunities and find the back of the net will be crucial in securing a place in the final.
