Another boring Soweto Derby draw? Orlando Pirates legend predicts drab match

As the highly anticipated Soweto derby between Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs looms on the horizon, Bucs legend Benedict Vilakazi has weighed in on the upcoming clash, highlighting the striking similarities between the two teams.

With the match set to take place at FNB Stadium tomorrow, Vilakazi shared his thoughts on the fierce rivalry between the two sides.

Vilakazi candidly expressed his belief that the match is likely to conclude in a goalless draw, emphasizing the lack of a clear advantage for either team.

“It will be a draw. I don’t see anyone winning. They will play to a goalless draw because I don’t think there will be anyone who will score,” Vilakazi stated.

The former player also identified potential game-changers, pointing to Relehobile Mofokeng as a key player for Pirates, while expressing skepticism about Chiefs’ attacking prowess.

“Maybe at Pirates… Relehobile Mofokeng can make a difference, but at Chiefs, I don’t see anyone because for me, they are just ordinary,” Vilakazi remarked.

Vilakazi further emphasized his belief that Orlando Pirates hold a slight advantage over Kaizer Chiefs in terms of squad depth, attributing the potential difference in performance to the coaching staff.

“I believe that Pirates have got a better squad compared to Chiefs,” he noted.

Vilakazi also highlighted Ashley du Preez’s commendable efforts in the Chiefs team, acknowledging his hard work on the field.
