Amakhosi missing 5 players this evening

Five players from the Kaizer Chiefs squad that will face Swallows on Wednesday will be absent. This is according to head coach Arthur Zwane. The Amakhosi will play the Dube Birds this evening. If they win, they might move up to fifth place on the log.

Swallows are firmly entrenched at the bottom of the standings, with only eight points. tonight’s game will mark the first since Dylan Kerr was fired.

Khama Billiat will be playing too soon, according to Zwane. George Matlou is suspended and three other team members are also out.

Sadly, George (Matlou) was sent off, Zwane said to the Chiefs media department.

Khama still isn’t with us. We are aware that playing him in this game would put him at risk.

“Neither Happy (Mashiane) nor Tower (Eric Mathoho) are here with us. Those are the four injuries at the moment, in my opinion.

And (Phathutshedzo) Nange, making a total of five. He has the virus and hasn’t returned to training this past week, so he’ll likely be available starting next week, though he won’t be ready to compete for another week or two.

However, Zwane reiterated that the Amakhosi are in a winning mood and that they are eager to improve their record on the road.

“There is a lot of energy. They have always been high, but the level of belief is rising, he continued.

You can see it from the previous game we played, and moving forward, we simply want to build on that performance and make sure that we maintain the same energy, drive, and team spirit.

“We are eagerly anticipating the game. We are aware that we are traveling and that our record on the road hasn’t been great, so we want to change that and make sure we perform to our full potential.

At Dobsonville Stadium, the game begins at 19:30, and tickets cost R100.
