A Man found dead, female driver missing
On the southbound lanes of the N2 near Sibaya Casino & Entertainment Kingdom in KZN, a 46-year-old man was found inside a bullet-riddled car on Sunday morning.
At around 7:42 a.m., a pedestrian who had seen the blue Haval H6 with many bullet holes idling on a painted island contacted Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA). The caller also mentioned that a passenger in the car had been shot and seemed to be dead.
Immediately after being informed of the location, Reaction Officers and RUSA Medics arrived and evaluated the man. He was killed as a result of gunshot wounds to the chest and head. The button and zip on his jeans were both open, and his belt was not attached.
The deceased’s Department of Health-issued CZ75 pistol weapon permit was discovered in the car. He didn’t have the gun, and it’s unclear if it was stolen or not. A second identification card that belonged to a female registered nurse working for the Department of Health was also found. It is assumed that she is the driver. At this time her whereabouts are unknown. Both identification cards had the same surname.
Multiple shots had been fired from the back and passenger side of the car. A single rifle cartridge (imagined several used 9mm rounds was found. Inside the car were four sealed beers and an open beer bottle.
At this point, no reason for the murder has been determined.
