Foreign national shot dead trying to rob an armed man
The Polokwane police are investigating an incident involving murder and aggravated robbery. This comes after an alleged robber was fatally shot.This occurrence occurred on Sunday night in Dalmada, outside Polokwane.
Brigadier Hlulani Mashaba, the provincial police spokesperson in Limpopo, said that the deceased is an unidentified foreign national.
“Preliminary reports indicate that two male victims were returning from the local spaza shop when two suspects threatened them with a firearm and knife, and demanded cash and cellphones,” said Mashaba.

A victim of the robbery managed to escape and sought help from their landlord, a 40-year-old security officer armed with his service pistol. Upon arrival, the landlord confronted the suspects. One fled, while the other, wielding a knife, attempted to stab the landlord.
A physical altercation occured and the landlord shot and killed the suspect. Police arrived, recovering the stolen cellphone, a toy gun, and the knife from the deceased suspect.
“Police have since launched a manhunt for the other suspect,” said Mashaba.
