Ronaldo To Sign New R3.5 billion Contract

Cristiano Ronaldo has agreed to a whopping €200 million per season deal with Saudi Arabian side Al Nasir, Marca report.

The Spanish publication already broke the news last week, claiming Ronaldo “has agreed” to join Al Nassr.

On Monday, Marca reiterated their report stating Ronaldo is set to sign a two-and-a-half year contract from 1 January 2023.

The 37-year-old is currently a free agent after mutually agreeing to terminate his Manchester United contract following his bombshell interview with Piers Morgan.

He is now free to choose a club of his liking and was understood to be keen to find a club that plays in the UEFA Champions League.

However, with offers from Europe seemingly rare, Ronaldo has agreed to a sensational switch to Saudi Arabia, Marca reports.

He will join Al Nassr on a 2.5-year deal, that will see him earn €200 million (R3.5 billion) per season.

The contract will see him become the highest-paid sports athlete right now, and he will earn more than Lionel Messi and Neymar combined, with the duo receiving €75 million and €70 million at Paris Saint-Germain respectively.

No club in Europe is prepared to match the financial offer, neither are teams from the Major League Soccer, which has reportedly resulted in him changing his mind and looking to move to the Arab nation.

Al Nassr are currently second in the Saudi Pro League, which is one league above Pitso Mosimane’s Al Ahli Saudi.
