ORLANDO PIRATES BOLD SHOPPING LIST FOR JANUARY
NJABULO BLOM
Amakhosi would probably prefer to sell Blom to a richer European club if they have to sell at all, but Pirates are firmly in the picture. While the 22-year-old stalls on a new deal, they’ll remain interested. Watch this space in January, because the Buccaneers want Blom, especially as he could learn a lot alongside Miguel Timm. Imagine what kind of statement it would make too!
PULE MMODI
Monnapule Saleng’s excellence in front of the goal has been a welcome bonus, but Pirates need more firepower in wide areas to lessen the burden on him. The winger has scored each of their last three goals and five of their last six. This reliance on one man isn’t a sustainable plan. Pule Mmodi is a realistic target who has been linked with Kaizer Chiefs, but now Pirates also seem keen. He’s also 29, so he has plenty of experience at this level.

KHANYISA MAYO
Cape Town City’s Khanyisa Mayo has four DStv Premiership goals this term already and is a regular for Bafana Bafana at the age of 24. This potential move could see Kermit Erasmus utilized in more of a ‘facilitator’ role. With Eva Nga likely to leave, Jose Riveiro needs another body in there.
