R10 Million Pirates player set to depart

Katlego Otladisa is the latest Pirates player to be rumoured to be leaving the club.

The talented attacker has struggled to secure regular game time since joining the Buccaneers, and this is unlikely to change given his current position in the squad’s pecking order.

“There have been some inquiries for Otladisa, and Gallants are not the only ones after him – Polokwane City want him too,” a source close to the player told Phakaaati.

“He can definitely add value elsewhere, as he’s not getting game time due to other players in his position performing well. At the moment, nothing has been agreed, but he’s likely to move when the window opens,” the source added.

Meanwhile, both Relebohile Mofokeng and Monnapule Saleng are ahead of him in the squad.

Otladisa’s former club, Marumo Gallants, is currently leading the race for his signature. Additionally, PSL rivals Polokwane City have also entered the competition for the Pirates attacker.

In my view, Otladisa is far too talented to not be playing regularly. There was much excitement surrounding his signing from Gallants to Pirates, but he has not been given many opportunities to showcase his ability.

Otladisa is currently valued at around R10 million (R9.5 million) according to Transfermarkt.

A move away seems to be in Otladisa’s best interests as he seeks regular first-team football.
