Solly Moholo’s daughter responds to social media backlash

It’s been less than a month since the passing of gospel star Solly Moholo, whose real name was Solomon Majafela Molokoane.

His daughter, Louisa, has come under scrutiny after she shared photos of a lavish shopping spree accompanied by armed bodyguards at what appears to be Diamond Walk.

Louisa was seen carrying high-end shopping bags from brands like Gucci.

However, her post quickly attracted negative comments from social media users.

Louisa didn’t hold back in responding to her critics, who accused her of spending money she supposedly received from her father’s insurance payout.

“I dare you to show me proof of payment of the donation money I ate. What you don’t know is this was an advance that we have to pay because it was just one person who helped us with that,” she said, urging people to stop meddling in her personal matters without knowing the full story.

“All we were trying to say was help out when someone is in need—ke botho (it’s humane)—and if you can’t, it’s understandable; it wasn’t forced,” she explained, referring to the donations the family sought to cover her father’s R700,000 medical bills.

She also highlighted her father’s history of helping others.

Louisa addressed concerns about where her spending money was coming from, especially in light of her late father’s financial situation before his death. She dismissed the idea that she was using insurance money.

“Papa helped so many people—it was in his blood. He did a lot to give back. Some of you suggesting public hospitals because they’re free—some people don’t know that public isn’t free. Some of you said he already passed while he was fighting. There are battles we had to face that you guys don’t know about behind the scenes. If I were to talk, it could take all day. Having a loved one in hospital is heartbreaking—there’s no need for assumptions and mean opinions,” she added.

She also stated that the family does not owe anyone an explanation and expressed her hurt and disappointment over the comments.

“We never said anyone owed us either. I don’t know where you get that! It is heartbreaking how you can twist a situation you know nothing about. The fact I had to address this is hurtful. And no! It’s not policy money either,” she fumed.
