Pitso Mosimane criticised by former Esteghlal star
Former Esteghlal midfielder Omid Ravankhah has spoken out against Mosimane for harshly criticising his players after a 3-1 loss to Kheybar Khorramabad on Saturday. Mosimane, upset after his first match in charge, said his players were “not being mentally well and so low.”
What Ravankhah Said about Mosimane
“I didn’t like Mosimane’s interview after the game. As a manager who just arrived two days ago and hasn’t worked with the players on basic set-pieces, it’s not right to criticise them,” Ravankhah commented, according to KickOff.
“Fans already criticise the team. They put enough pressure on the players to perform better. The manager should build a better connection with the players and keep the team’s spirit up.”
“We are patient, and the fans are patient. They know the manager has two or three weeks to change the team,” he added.
“The situation is unnatural. No matter who the manager is, this shouldn’t happen at Esteghlal.”
The Bigger Picture
Mosimane will be hoping that his blunt remarks do not create problems in the dressing room.
Some players might find his comments too harsh, while others could see them as motivation to improve.
Keeping a positive atmosphere in the dressing room is crucial for Mosimane as he aims to turn Esteghlal’s fortunes around.
What’s Next for Esteghlal?
Mosimane will lead his team against Tractor on Thursday, which will be his second match in charge. He will be hoping his players can bounce back and earn their first points under him.
