Da Les celebrates daughter’s birthday while recovering from stroke
Famous rapper Da Les, known for his impact on the hip-hop scene, recently celebrated his daughter Mataya’s birthday during his recovery from a stroke earlier this year.
A touching video shared by Zimoja shows Da Les in a wheelchair beside Mataya, surrounded by family as they sing her a heartfelt birthday song.
Despite his health challenges, Da Les celebrated this special day with warmth and gratitude.
After spending a month in the hospital following his stroke, the rapper, whose full name is Leslie Jonathan Mampe Jr., has been discharged and is now recovering at home, where his family can provide him with personalised care and keep media attention away.
As he undergoes rehabilitation, Da Les is steadily improving, working on his mobility and speech with the help of his family, including his mother, who flew in from the U.S. to support him.
His team plans to share updates on his progress.
“He is starting to show improvement, thanks to the rehab programme. He’s learning to walk too. He’s aware of what’s happening and is determined to get back on his feet. He’s showing major improvement since he started rehab,” a source told Zimoja.
