Nasreddine Nabi aims to end Kaizer Chiefs trophy drought
Nasreddine Nabi has shared his plans to help Kaizer Chiefs win trophies again, stating, “We know our strategy.”
The club is trying to return to its successful days and aims to win its first trophy since 2015.
Kaizer Chiefs hired Nasreddine Nabi as their coach for the 2024/25 season, with the goal of bringing back a winning mindset to the team.
So far, they have won two matches in the Premier Soccer League but lost one to Mamelodi Sundowns.
Their performances have been encouraging, and they have also reached the quarter-finals of the Carling Knockout.
However, Nabi believes the team still has more to improve.
What Nasreddine Nabi Said
“We are happy that the fans are happy with the results, but we are still far away from where we want to be,” Nabi said after a match.
He added, “We are in a period of building, and it will take a lot of time, but even in that period of building, we need to get the results to keep the club going forward.”
Nabi also mentioned that while tough times may come, “we know our strategy and how we want our team to play, and we hope the support will still be there.”
He described this season as a “period of transition from one step to another step,” noting that they will take things one game at a time to keep supporters happy.
Currently, Chiefs have a chance to finish the season with a treble, although it will be challenging.
They are still in the running for the PSL title, the Carling Knockout, and the Nedbank Cup.
However, Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates are also strong competitors for the league title, with the Pirates already out of the Carling Knockout.
What’s Next for Chiefs?
Kaizer Chiefs will next play against SuperSport United in Polokwane, hoping to boost their league performance. This match will take place a week after they beat the same team 4-0 in the Carling Knockout.
