Man enters hospital with snake around neck after bite

In an unusual incident, a 48-year-old man walked into a hospital with a snake wrapped around his neck, hoping to assist medical staff in identifying the snake that had bitten him.

This extraordinary approach was taken by Prakash Mandal, who hails from Bihar, India.

He arrived at the facility with a Russell’s Viper—a highly venomous species—coiled around him after it bit his right arm.

As he entered the hospital, onlookers were left in disbelief, capturing the bizarre scene on their phones.

Mandal was escorted away from the crowd, where he sought a more quiet spot.

There, he lay down and carefully placed the snake beside him, maintaining a firm grip on its head to prevent it from opening its mouth and potentially striking again.

Reports indicate that as he was transported on a stretcher, Mandal still held onto the snake, refusing to let go.

Medical staff soon informed him that keeping the reptile in his grasp would complicate his treatment. He reluctantly released the snake, which was then taken by his family.

They secured it in a bag to ensure it wouldn’t escape until the man received the necessary medical care.

Once Mandal was treated, the snake was handed over to the forest department for safe handling and release back into its natural habitat.
