KZN man found beaten, tied and left to die in the bush
A 37-year-old man endured a terrible ordeal in Southridge, KwaZulu-Natal (KZN), after being abducted, assaulted, and left in a bush to die.
Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) responded to a call for help from Crasula Drive, where residents found the man tied with cable ties and rope, his mouth taped shut. Arriving at the scene RUSA officers swiftly intervened.
According to the victim, he and his brother were walking along Garland Street in Temple Valley, KZN, on Sunday afternoon when they were confronted by a group of people in a white double cab bakkie. However, due to a head injury sustained during the assault, he has no memory of subsequent events.
After regaining consciousness the following morning in Southridge, he looked for help from local residents who alerted RUSA.
Officers freed him from his restraints, but unfortunately, his 27-year-old brother is still missing. The victim suspects his attackers abandoned him in the bush after the assault.
Despite sustaining multiple head injuries, the victim refused medical treatment.
