Woman arrested for raping 12-year-old boy

A 34-year-old woman from Mpumalanga has been arrested for allegedly raping a 12 year old boy. The woman is said to have met the minor who was visiting his grandmother at Mhluzi near Middleburg on 05 April 2024.

“The suspect allegedly grabbed the victim and forced herself on him,” said Mpumalanga Provincial Police Spokesperson, Colonel Donald Mdluli.

Following the ordeal the boy told his grandmother about what the woman had done to him and the matter was immediately reported to the police who started with investigations.

“The female suspect was traced and apprehended by police on Monday, 08 April 2024,” explained Mdluli

She subsequently appeared before the Middleburg Magistrate’s Court on charges of rape on Wednesday,10 April 2024.

She was remanded in custody pending her next court appearance on 16 April 2024 for a formal bail application.
