Former Speaker of Parliament, Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula, has taken a significant step in the face of a multi-million rand corruption investigation by surrendering herself to police at the Lyttelton police station in Tshwane.

The arrival of two vehicles, an Audi Q7 and a black BMW X5, transporting Mapisa-Nqakula to the police station was reported by the SABC around 7am, signaling the beginning of formal legal proceedings.
