Soccer player collapses and dies during the match

Anele Gasa, 26, was pronounced deceased on arrival at the Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) Headquarters at 17:00 on the afternoon of June 16, 2022.

Gasa collapsed earlier today during a soccer match in Trenance Park, KZN. While placed in the back seat of a blue Renault Clio, his friends rushed him to the RUSA Base for Medical Assistance.
After paramedics uncovered no signs of life, the soccer player was proclaimed dead. His family was told shortly after that.
Gasa is from Zwelisha and he used to play football for TP United, a local team.
This soccer player’s death shows that he may or may not have been aware of an underlying health concern. This is a tragic death that his loved ones will have a hard time accepting.
