Former Kaizer Chiefs striker is still jobless at just 25

Kamohleo Mahlatsi has been on a quest to find a new team after being turned away by several clubs.

Despite the setbacks, he remains optimistic about his future in soccer.

Mahlatsi, 25, had high hopes when he joined Kaizer Chiefs, but his time at the Naturena-based club did not go as planned, leading to his release last September.

Limited playing time was cited as the main reason for his departure.

The former South Africa Under-23 player has been attending trials at various clubs, including Moroka Swallows FC, but has yet to secure a deal.

Despite the challenges, Mahlatsi continues to work hard and maintain his fitness by training with an amateur club.

According to reports, Mahlatsi was offered a contract by a club in the Motsepe Foundation Championship, but he turned it down due to salary demands not being met.

A source close to the player revealed, “It is very tough for him at the moment because most of his peers are playing every weekend and he can’t find a team. I honestly thought that he was going to be signed at Swallows because they know him, but that was not the case.”

However, Mahlatsi remains optimistic and is focused on the future.

The informant added, “He is not letting his head drop because he knows that something will happen for him soon. What I like is that he is training every day to stay in shape. What happened at Chiefs is all in the past and some people see it as a huge flop. But he just wants to focus on the future and getting a new team.”

Despite the challenges Mahlatsi has faced in his pursuit of a new team, he remains hopeful.
