Man dies after he inhaled cooking gas with his head enclosed in a plastic bag
A 52-year-old man took his own life by inhaling cooking gas.
The motive behind his decision remains unknown.
Deputy Station Commander at Maun Police Station, Assistant Superintendent Michael Bagai, verified the incident and stated, “At present, there is no indication of foul play. He was discovered by a friend with the gas pipe in his mouth and a plastic bag wrapped around his head.”
The man was employed by a Safari company in Maun at the time of his death and was residing alone.
Authorities are now working to locate the man’s family with the assistance of his employers.
It is a tragic reminder of the importance of seeking professional help when faced with overwhelming challenges.
Bagai emphasized that many factors leading people to take such drastic measures can often be resolved through amicable means.
This unfortunate incident highlights the need for increased mental health awareness and support in communities.
In a society where mental health is often stigmatized and ignored, it is crucial that individuals struggling with their mental well-being are encouraged to seek help.
