Salah set for shock Afcon return

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that Mohamed Salah will return to the Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) if he recovers from his injury in time and Egypt reach the final.

Salah, who picked up a hamstring injury in Egypt’s draw with Ghana, has returned to England for treatment and is expected to be back in action in three to four weeks.

Klopp emphasized the shared interest of both Egypt and Liverpool in having Salah fit as soon as possible.

He explained that bringing Salah back to England for treatment is not meant to take him away from Egypt, but rather to provide him with the best medical care.

Klopp stated, “If Salah is fit and Egypt go to the final, it was always clear, he goes back, 100%. Mo wants that, we want that.”

The Liverpool manager’s comments highlight the importance of Salah’s presence for both club and country.

Salah’s return to the Afcon would not only benefit Egypt but also Liverpool, as Klopp’s team relies heavily on the winger’s contributions.
