Orlando Pirates Reveal Latest News on Vincent Pule Injury
Orlando Pirates have issued an update on the availability of their players for the upcoming match against SuperSport United.
Midfielder Vincent Pule suffered an injury in the December 9 match against TS Galaxy, where Orlando Pirates secured a 1-0 victory.
He was also unable to participate in the Golden Arrows game, that took place after which Pirates would go on to win 2-1.
The 31-year-old has faced challenges this season with injuries and stiff competition within the squad, making six PSL appearances and providing an assist.
On the other hand, Patrick Maswanganyi, a key player for Riveiro, has been a consistent presence in the lineup, scoring three goals in 14 league games.
Unfortunately, the former SuperSport attacker will not be available for the upcoming match against the Gavin Hunt led team.
What Orlando Pirates had to say
“Pirates could be welcoming back attacking midfielder Vincent Pule, who was not part of the match-day squad against Arrows following his early withdrawal during the victory over Galaxy,” the Soweto giants revealed.
“They are however guaranteed to have a key player missing in Patrick Maswanganyi, who is suspended for one match for accumulating four yellow cards this season.”
A victory for Orlando Pirates would take them to 28 points from 15 matches, going SuperSport, who are currently second place to leaders Mamelodi Sundowns with 26 points from 14 games.
SuperSport United aim to secure maximum points, in order to keep their bid for positions in the CAF Champions League.
