Makhadzi allegedly owes over 6 million in unpaid taxes.

Makhadzi has been tied in controversy as allegations of tax default arise. The Ma Gear hitmaker allegedly has a debt of over 6 million that is owed to the South African Revenue Services (SARS).

Following her breakthrough in the industry and infamous long relationship with ex-lover, Master KG, Makhadzi has been soaring high. However, regardless of her popularity, she has been in trendy headlines on the other side of the law. Makhadzi has gone beyond local soil and has headlined several international events. These are events that have been said to have earned her a stable lifestyle.

Amid these allegations, her initial management team has been implicated. Open Mic has been accused of default payments dating back to 2016 since she was signed with them. Her prior manager, Rita Dee, has been held accountable for allegedly failing to assist Makhadzi in filing her taxes. According to the South Africa, a source reported to the media that, “When she joined Open Mic, she was already owing and the debt accumulated.”

The source stated that her properties have been entangled in the taxes, but she cannot lose them. “She cannot afford to have those taken away from her. So, she will fix it,” added the source. This is following the time months ago when Makhadzi was flaunting buying a house in Fourways. This is in addition to several other properties that she owns in both Johannesburg and Limpopo.

Makhadzi’s manager, Lucky Tshilimandila, has since acknowledged the alleged debt. “Yes, we acknowledge the debt. It goes back to 2016. Makhadzi has an arrangement with SARS”.

With that, we want to make sure that we do everything according to the book. We went out and got new accountants to deal directly with the issue. In the same way we got a legal team to take care of all paperwork and legalities. Makhadzi is learning. We can put the blame on her when she doesn’t give a great performance on stage but we can’t blame her for accounting issues and tax matters.” Lucky says.
