52-year-old disabled man killed by KZN gang

A 52-year-old man was shot and killed on Saturday by a vigilante group in Amouti, KZN. Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) and Inanda South African Police Service (SAPS) officers were investigating a separate murder in an area known as Nigeria when a woman reported that her brother had been shot nearby.

Upon arrival, officers found the victim in his yard, where he had been shot five times in the head, chest, and leg. He was pronounced dead at the scene by RUSA paramedics. A witness stated that the man was shot by two individuals as he left his room. The victim, who was unemployed and received a disability grant due to difficulty walking, was identified by his family.

The suspects are believed to be part of a vigilante gang linked to six murders in Amouti within 24 hours.
