25-year-old man arrested for raping a 62-year-old man
This has to be one of the most shocking rape cases the South African Police Services (SAPS) has ever reported. Whereby a 25-year-old man raped a 62-year-old man in his home.
A 25-year-old man is accused of raping a 62-year-old male pensioner in Bushbuckridge. This happened on the evening of 20 June 2022. According to Lieutenant General Semakaleng Daphney Manamela, the provincial commissioner of the police in Mpumalanga.
According to the information, the victim claims that on that day at about 20:30, he was relaxing at his home at Ga-Motibidi. He says that his front door was open. When he saw a suspect he knew enter his room, he immediately asked him what he wanted.
The rape ordeal by a 25-year-old man
The suspect then allegedly grabbed the old man and pushed him to the bed and raped him.
After that, he stole the old man’s money that was on top of the table and fled. Suspect was found and taken into custody. He appeared in the Bushbuckridge Magistrate’s Court on 22 June 2022, on a charge of rape.
In a separate incident, a man was sentenced 25-years in prison term for rape. He also got five years for an assault with the purpose to cause great bodily damage, and five years for kidnapping.
Nomasondo Cecilia Vilakazi, 45, was in a bar in Bohlokomg on 27 April 27 2021 at about 14:30. Her ex-boyfriend Sebuti Molelekwa, 35, called her outside.
He grabbed her and pulled her to his house, where he kept her there for three days while raping and beating her. The victim suffered serious wounds.
On the third day, she was able to take the key from Sebuti’s pants. To unlock the door, and run away while he was sleeping.
The neighbours helped her by calling the police, and her older sister took her to the hospital so she could get medical care.
The suspect was kept in jail until his sentencing.
