21 Teenagers found dead at a tarven latest developments

South Africa woke up to the news of more than 21 teenagers found dead at a nightclub.

Officials are looking into the cause the of deaths of 21 teenagers. This happened at a local tavern in Scenery Park, East London. The management of the South African Police Service (SAPS) has asked for the use of all available resources.

Teenagers lay dead on the floor

The teenagers’ dead bodies were found at a tavern close by. This was on Sunday morning at about 4:00. Based on a report made to the Scenery Park Police Station.

The real death toll is 21 teenagers

Police got there and found 17 bodies in the building. In addition to this 4 more deaths had happened. Which includes 2 who died at a local clinic. One died on the way to the hospital, another died in hospital.

Bodies lay across tables and chairs

Of all those who died, 12 are boys and 9 are girls.

The Minister of Police, General Bheki Cele, and the National Commissioner of the SAPS, General Fannie Masemola led top crime scene experts and bomb disposal technicians. These are from the National Headquarters of the Criminal Record and Crime Scene Management Component to help the Eastern Cape Crime Scene Investigations teams.

The identification of the victims was at the local mortuary. The Minister of Police spoke with locals and the parents of the deceased.
