The arrested individuals allegedly operated along the N4 route, stopping minibus taxis, driving along the highway, and intimidating drivers into paying a spot fine of R2,500 under the disguise of a patrol squad.

The swift intervention of the authorities came in response to community outcry about similar incidents occurring along the N4 route in recent months.

MEC Diale-Tlabela emphasized that the road safety program, specifically the Fatela Road Safety operations, will persist throughout January.

MEC Diale-Tlabela affirmed the commitment to maintaining law and order within the public transport system, safeguarding the well-being of motorists and passengers.
