18-year-old is facing serious charges after being caught raping fellow learner aged 14

An 18-year-old pupil is facing serious charges after being arrested for allegedly raping a 14-year-old fellow learner in Mookgo village, under the Mokwakwaila policing area in Limpopo.

The disturbing incident unfolded on a Saturday night, leaving the victim traumatized and the community in shock.

According to Limpopo police spokesperson, Colonel Malesela Ledwaba, the suspect was apprehended in the act by the victim’s mother and a male community member.

Concerned when the young girl did not return home, the mother and her companion went searching for her.

Their search led them to a house where they heard screams coming from inside.

Peering through a window, they were met with a harrowing sight – the 18-year-old boy naked and the 14-year-old girl in distress.

The mother and her companion immediately intervened, prompting the suspect to flee the scene.

The victim recounted a chilling tale of being dragged to the perpetrator’s residence and subjected to repeated acts of rape.

The gravity of the situation prompted the police to swiftly open a case of rape and launch a manhunt for the suspect.

Fortunately, law enforcement was able to track down and apprehend the alleged perpetrator shortly after the incident.

The accused now faces legal proceedings and is set to appear before the Bolobedu Magistrate’s Court outside Tzaneen.
